Chuck Morse Releases Fortifying Granite State Defenses Plan

April 9, 2024

Salem, NH - Today, Chuck Morse, Republican candidate for Governor, held a press conference to unveil his comprehensive plan titled "Fortifying Granite State Defenses: Combating Deadly Drugs, Crime, and Unlawful Border Crossings in the 603." With the rise of illegal immigration and drug-related crimes plaguing New Hampshire, Morse pledged to be the unwavering voice needed to protect Granite State families.

"Because of Joe Biden’s policies, every state has become a de facto border state. It’s clear our federal government won’t take action to protect Granite State families," stated Senator Chuck Morse.

"Border Patrol agents have estimated that more than ten million illegal immigrants have crossed our southern border since Joe Biden took office - that is greater than the entire population of the state of New Hampshire!

"Even up here in New Hampshire we have felt the effects of the Mexican drug cartels exploiting America’s weak immigration laws to provide cover to their illicit operations. Fentanyl, smuggled across our southern border into the U.S. has become a major problem throughout New Hampshire.

"Over the past three years, the Granite State has averaged nearly 400 opioid-related overdose deaths per year and during that time, 2/3rds of the overdose deaths involved Fentanyl or other synthetic drugs. We need to send a strong message as a state that dealing Fentanyl in New Hampshire is unacceptable. We need to treat Fentanyl with the seriousness it deserves by passing legislation to have the toughest sentences on the books. Anyone who deals Fentanyl in this state needs to be treated like the murderer they are.

"As your next Governor, I am committed to stepping up and delivering a resounding message—New Hampshire will not succumb to this crisis. I pledge to be the unwavering voice that our state needs to protect our families here in the Granite State."

Majority Leader Sharon Carson

"I proudly stand with Chuck Morse for Governor; we need him in that corner office. Chuck's strong understanding of the issues, coupled with his solutions-driven approach, instills confidence in Granite State families. They can trust him to deliver as Governor," stated Senator Sharon Carson.

Majority Floor Leader, Joseph Sweeney

"As Governor, Chuck Morse will not only say the right things, he will take decisive action to address the pressing needs of our communities. He won't falter or turn his back on Granite State families. With Chuck Morse as Governor we can trust in his leadership to tackle the challenges of securing our northern border, safeguarding our communities and combating the drug crisis. I am honored to stand here in full support of him," added Representative Joseph Sweeney.

Senate Majority Whip Regina Birdsell, Assistant Majority Whip Senator Ruth Ward, Senator Daryl Abbas, Assistant Majority Floor Leader Representative Emily Philips, and Representative Tom Mannion also attended in support of the plan.
